This page is specifically for students on the First Generation Scholars Scheme with Sussex University (or considering signing up for the scheme). To be eligible you need to be the first generation in your immediate family to go to university – it doesn’t matter if brothers or sisters are already at university (or have been) but this is specifically for students whose parents have not completed a degree at university.
If you are in Year 12 you can find out more about the First Generation Scholars Scheme from Mr Morris. If you are already a member of the scheme look out for activities run by Sussex.
Sussex Study Experience Programme
This is one of the activities for First Generation Scholars but other students can also apply to take part.
A chance to try out university-style study, the Sussex Study Experience programme involves going to the University of Sussex campus (near Brighton) a few times during Year 12 to take part in workshops related to your subject of interest. All train fares paid for by Sussex. Information about the 2016 programme will be available during the Autumn term but the information about last year’s programme gives a flavour of what is available: http://www.sussex.ac.uk/study/wp/students/sse
